Fitzroy & Belmore Falls are 2 of several spectacular waterfalls of interest to visitors to the northern section of Morton National Park. Scenic waterfalls, gorges & sandstone plateaux are the most impressive features of this large & popular national park located within easy reach of the Sydney metropolitan area. Morton provides for a wide variety of recreation experiences, ranging from family picnicking & sightseeing through to wilderness pursuits in the north Budawang Ranges & Ettrema Gorge areas.

The great variation in landform within the park provides habitats for a wide range of animals including grey kangaroos, swamp wallabies, wombats, echidnas, platypus, possums. Also, a particularly varied bird life including lyre birds, wedge tail eagles, wonga pigeons, quails, king parrots, cockatoos & owls. Rare animal species found in the park include eastern bristle birds, ground parrots & brush tail rock wallabies. Rare plants acurring in Morton include the Ettrama mallee, Budawang ash & Pigeon House ash.
