What we do: Mountain Trail Rides suitable for adults & children over 10 years of age. Please note: We accommodate riders up to 85kg/13.38 stone maximum, if you are near to this weight please speak with our staff before booking
The Mountain Trail Rides/Horse Rides climb through lush rainforest on Mt Moollootoo, one of the highest mountains in the Kangaroo Valley (530 meters above sea level). From the peak of Moollootoo there are panoramic views of the property, the Morton National park, Lake Yurunga and the Kangaroo River, some of the most beautiful horse riding in Australia, a perfect backdrop for photographs of cowboys and cowgirls on horseback.
We have organized the ride so that even the novice can feel secure under the guidance of our experienced trail leaders.
On horseback, visitors will travel through pristine areas while having minimal impact on the surrounding environment, The ride offers an interesting way for participants to learn about the history and the geographical area that is kangaroo Valley. The trail ride is confined to fire trails and old logging trails with limited numbers of participants- generally 6 or less. Our overarching principles are that we enhance the environment where possible ( for example, replanting native cedar trees and casuarina): leave no traces; and teach guests about the natural and indigenous history of the locale.Your experience begins with an introduction to horses so that you can learn how to communicate with animals using body language, how to approach them in a non-threatening manner and how to behave safely and correctly around horses on the ground and in the saddle.
Average ride time 2 hours – (allow 3 hours for introduction, preparation and ride)
